Glory Light Humility

“Preach the Word of God, Retah - My truth; proclaim the reality of the Spirit world!

“Retah, I want you to tell the truth; tell the world what I teach you every day. Don’t be afraid; teach the Word of God – nothing more, nothing less. Preach Holiness and preach the Blood of Yeshua because I want to manifest My love, but also My Word and Truth in My children’s lives.

“Teach them that I am raising up a standard - the standard of the law of the Spirit (Rom. 8:2); if not, how will they be able to live a Holy life? The Law of Moses stated that a man could divorce his wife if he found something indecent in her (Deut. 24:1), but the higher law that Jesus preached says even by looking lustfully at another woman is committing adultery.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’(Exodus 20:14). But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce’(Deut. 24:1). But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery (Matt. 27-32).

“Don’t be fooled My child, My standard is high and you know how high. I have taught you so many details of the spirit realm, but you are afraid to talk about it. Teach them. For so long a ‘false grace’ has been preached. The spiritual reality of: what you sow you shall reap, is a warning that so many of my children choose not to listen to. Stand strong, and let My Spirit be the one who leads you step by step.  If I am with you, who can be against you? Don’t be afraid of man, Retah – your road is not their road. Don’t be moved by the words of man - be moved only by My Spirit in you. Remember to daily break the curses of the words of death that are being spoken over you.”

True humility comes when the Glory Light of God is shining upon us. The person walking in true humility will be able to say: “I have lost myself in finding You. I no longer compare myself to others; my identity, my worth and my destiny is found in You Lord.”

Every thought coming from “self” will disappear in the presence of God. You will seek no fleshly gain, or to puff up “self”, but you will seek to die to self and to live for love: To love the Lord with all you heart, soul mind and strength; and to love your neighbour as yourself.

3Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

4Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.

5Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

6Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

7But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

8And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! (Phil. 2:3-8, Ampl).

Such a person walking in this glory light humility of God has received the spirit of Jesus, who pleased not Himself. It is a person who can admit that he struggles with impatience and touchiness and hurtful thoughts and sharp words that would harm other people.

Why is it that we don’t believe the power of our thoughts and our words? I was watching over Aldo in the hospital in December (it was my turn to stay the night with him) and as I sat next to his bed that night, I had to fight thoughts of anger. If you would have asked me at that moment what I was thinking and feeling, I would have said, “I am angry! But no big deal, it is only in my thoughts!” Later that night Aldo woke up after being asleep for most of the night, and said, “Mom, can I write please?” In his letter he wrote: ‘Mom, Mom what is going on now? You have thoughts of hatred and the enemy is using that hatred in your heart to try and push the “hate drain” open. Please Mom, repent right now – if not, they will attack me tonight because you have opened the “hate drain” with your thoughts.’

Can you imagine how I felt? I didn’t think of my anger as hatred, but anger is rooted in hatred and that could have opened up the “hate” drain.  I wondered to myself how many times before I had been the reason for the drains of hell to be opened over our family because of my thoughts that are seen and manifested in my heart and attitudes? I can just imagine what you might be thinking about this – but it is so true. I immediately repented before Jesus, and Aldo went to sleep and had a wonderful night’s rest. The next morning he woke up and wrote: Thank you Mom – thank you that you keep your heart red with the Blood of Yeshua.

How humbling this road has become! To walk in the law of the Spirit, is to reap the power of the Spirit. To walk in this narrow road of the glory light of humility, we need to be clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Col 3:12). When you are born-again, Jesus himself takes the place where “self” used to rule, and because you now follow Him instead of your own “self”, it will not be difficult for you to forgive the way Jesus forgave. But all of this (His character manifesting through you) can only come out of a heart of humility. It comes out of a heart that is filled with kindness, patience and love; all because you have tasted the patience and kindness and love of Jesus himself. As you spend time in His presence, His sweet, lowly gentleness will hover over you - and as you walk out into your everyday life, that fragrance will follow you wherever you go. Humbleness will be smelled and tasted by the people around you. Humbleness is not a condition that you have only when you pray and spend time in God’s presence - it is a way of life, it is a way of faith... it is to walk by faith and not by sight - to walk according to the principles of God’s Word and not by man’s interpretation of grace.

During this holiday someone said that they wished they had more faith so they could enter into the realm of the spirit. A thought about this statement a lot, and thought to myself that the person doesn’t necessarily need more faith, they need more humility - because the window that separates them from that higher dimension is PRIDE; for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. With a humble heart and being emptied of ‘self’, more grace will be given so that we can be lifted higher into the things of God. This only comes by living a life of humbleness: a clean, pure, holy life - a life of brokenness and repentance before the King. It comes naturally when Jesus is enthroned in a person’s heart. His humility and gentleness (the ultimate humility of a King becoming a servant) will be one of the streams of living water that will flow from our inner being. For Jesus to be enthroned on your heart, you have to be off the throne. It is a place of dependency on God and God alone... not trusting in your own ability, but allowing His Spirit to lead your every step - even if the path gets narrow. By now I know that I am totally dependent on God! I do not want to risk one step without Him!

It is so easy to think of yourself as being humble before God;  yet, humility towards others will be the only sufficient proof that our humility has become our nature – that we actually (just like Jesus) have made ourselves of no reputation. We have to make sure that we have the nature of Christ and that we are not just busy fighting our own nature all the time. Only those parts of our nature that have “died to self” can be invaded and transformed by God’s nature. Serve one another in love (not expecting anything back) – thát is the nature of Christ Jesus.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Gal. 5:13-18).

We are still on holiday in Knysna. It is late at night while I am typing this last part of my web-letter and the kids have already gone to bed. Tinus is watching the movie ‘The Book of Eli,’ and I am just watching and listening to what is going on in the movie on the side. As a catch glimpses of the story, I wonder to myself if we really do understand the power of ‘the Book’? Do we have any idea how thankful we should be that we have ‘the Book’? The day is coming when if we don’t have ‘the Book’ (The Word of God) in our hearts, we are going to suffer. I am not talking about some day far away – that day is now.

Aldo is doing really well after his operation, and Josh is cheering him on all the way! All of us are up and going again and we are enjoying the beautiful Knysna to the full! The men especially enjoy the golf, even Aldo in his own special way.

I told Josh that he wasn’t allowed to watch ‘The book of Eli’ with us, because it has an age restriction of 13 years, and it seemed a bit violent to me. But every now and again he peeps around the corner and asks, “What are they doing now, Mom? How can anyone live without the Word of God? Have they found ‘the Book’ yet? Do they believe the Word, Mom?”

He fully understands that life without the Word of God is a life of hell. As he asked all those questions about the movie, I thought to myself: What about us? Do we seek the truth contained in ‘the Book’?

Let’s stay in God’s Word this year. Allow Him to write it on your heart through the love of the Holy Spirit.

Our office has reopened, so all the people who have e-mailed me about our new books can send your requests to: office@retahmcpherson.com.

My friend, may you be willing (along with me) to yield to God’s Word completely this year, to be changed by His love, and to learn more about a life of abundance and living in the Promised Land. God is calling forth the Joshua’s and Caleb’s of this generation: Stand up and raise your standards! Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind through the Word of God (Rom. 12:2). Be bold and courageous for the Kingdom of God!

I pray that you will be so blessed in this wonderful year given to us by the King – a time of grace. Thank you that we can share with you all that Wisdom entrusts us with, so that we can all be transformed by the law of the Spirit that rules over the law of sin and death, and be ready for the King.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death (Rom. 8:2).

Aldo just popped out of his room right now (I am sure the sound of the movie was too loud) and said: “Mom, God said in Genesis ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. Speak Mom, speak the Word of God. People today live in the same havoc like those people in the movie even though they have the Word of God, because they are not living out what the Word says. Can you imagine what is waiting?” Aldo has been reading the Book of Genesis all day long. Help me Lord to understand and live Your Word!

Dear Lord Jesus, please help us to understand a deeper revelation of Your Word - all seven levels of Your Word. Wisdom, we ask and pray for Your Godly wisdom this year.

Love to you all!

Retah and family.
