On your marks, get set and go...

18 January 2022

Yes, we all started the year with a bang, but not without a vision.

In Genesis 24, we read that even though Abraham was old and close to death, he still had a vision about his son to receive a Godly wife. He sent his servant, Eliezer, to travel to his hometown to find Isaac a wife. Eliezer felt the pressure, just like us many a time. “How am I going to know I made the right choice? I will go, but I am afraid! This is asking too much of me? I am just human, you know?”

These are all valid responses. But Abraham said to Eliezer, “You will know exactly what to do, for the Lord, in whose presence I have walked, will send His angel with you and make your mission successful.” Abraham was saying, ”Don’t worry, I have a history with God.”

“I have seen His faithfulness, even when I was not faithful.”

“He gave us a child, even though we were too old to have children.”

“He provided a ram in the bush when I thought I was going to have to sacrifice my son.”

“He showed me mercy when I made the mistake of having a baby out of wedlock.”

“He rescued my nephew Lot when he was in big trouble.”

“He provided when I could not see a thing.”

“He showed me mercy, time and again, by turning a situation around.”

“I have seen God’s goodness over and over in my life.”

All these testimonies of Abraham’s history with God, he relayed to his servant!

Confident in God’s goodness, Abraham could boldly state, “Just go, walk with God, and it will happen.”

Scripture tells us to rehearse and remember God’s wonders, and this is exactly what Abraham was doing.

Psalm 77:11, 12, 14 I will earnestly recall the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will earnestly remember the wonders You performed for our fathers of old. I will meditate also upon all Your works and consider all Your mighty deeds. You are the God Who does wonders; You have demonstrated Your power among the peoples.

Abraham just looked back at the faithfulness of God, and with confidence, he sent out his servant on this faith mission.

This is a new year, and we have to do exactly what Abraham did – let’s declare and decree the faithfulness and the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives. Let us remember and rehearse what He has done – for this builds our faith muscles.

God is waiting for us to decree and declare by faith.

It takes the spirit of boldness and faith to publicly declare the impossible in our lives.

Make a list and start declaring, “I am the righteousness of God. The favour of God is among the righteous. I will reach my destiny. I will see my children serving the Lord, and I thank Him already for everything.”

Whatever goes on in your life, declare and decree! Call the things which are not as if they already are! God is waiting to hear from you.

Instead of feeding Satan every day with your worries – “What if it does not work out?” – stressing about every aspect of your life; your finances, your health, your children.

Get an attitude of faith: “The Lord in whose presence I have walked, the Lord who always defeated my enemies, the Lord who restores me, vindicates me, the Lord whose hand is always upon me – He and Him alone will make my mission successful.”

God has not brought us this far to leave us.

He is still on the throne!

I want you to know that like never before, we have to be focused on Him and Him alone.

He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep on going on. Keep on decreeing and declaring, “No weapon formed against us is going to prosper.

God is saying – “I command you to be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid, don’t quit!” He is with us – all the way, to the end.

I lift your arms high in the year 2022. Please send your prayer requests and know that you are not alone. God has an army ready to assist us in every endeavour we go through.

Thank you so very much for all the years of partnering with us. Without your seed in our lives, I would not be able to do what we do for God’s Kingdom. Together we learn, grow and walk the journey of faith. May this be a year of growth, and may we all eat of the sweet fruit of perseverance.

I bless you and love you all.

From my house to yours – have a blessed 2022.
